
The StarDaze festival sponsors the Miss Southeast Arkansas and Southeast Arkansas Outstanding Teen scholarship pageants. These pageants are recognized as part of the nationally renowned Miss America Scholarship Pageant system. Both winners go on to represent Southeast Arkansas in their respective state pageant. The pageant is open to residence, full-time employees, or full-time students of the following counties: Arkansas, Ashley, Bradley, Calhoun, Chicot, Cleveland, Dallas, Desha, Drew, Grant, Jefferson, Lincoln, Monroe, Ouachita and Phillips.
Our 2011 pageant will be held on Saturday, February 19th.
We are thrilled that both of our 2010 winners, Maegan Inzer, Miss Southeast Arkansas (pictured on left) and Randee Jo Langley, Miss Southeast Arkansas Outstanding Teen (pictured on right) will be with us to entertain and crown their successors. We will also have Miss Arkansas 2010, Alyse Eady with us to help entertain pending she is not serving in a new role as Miss America!

2011 Miss Southeast Arkansas Talent 35% - Private Interview 25% - Evening Wear 20% - Swimsuit 15% - On-Stage Question 5% ENTRY DEADLINE FEBRUARY 14, 2011*** Contestants must provide with their forms, a certified copy of their current college or high school transcript, a copy of their birth certificate, confirmation of $100 raised for the Children’s Miracle Network, sponsorship fee of $75.00 and any other supporting material as outlined in the attached contestant’s information. Please read and study all forms and regulations associated with the pageant before signing them. Comply with all requests for signatures and notaries. Sponsorship for the pageant is $75.00 and may be made payable to the Miss Southeast Arkansas Scholarship Organization. The CMN requirements are separate from the sponsorship fee. You must set up a web account at www.missamerica4kids.org . At that website go to the “New Contestants” link, if you do not already have an active account. This must be done, or you may not compete in the pageant. This is a national rule and we have to abide by it. If you have any questions in regards to the CMN donation please do not hesitate to call. ***Contestant Forms are online at www.missarkansas.org*** Contestants are responsible for their own lodging, meals, and transportation while in Star City for the pageant. Star City Inn & Suites is our local hotel. You can contact them at REHEARSAL There will be only one rehearsal for the pageant and that will be on Friday evening February 18, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Rehearsal for all contestants will begin promptly at 6:00 pm. We will complete the rehearsal as quickly as possible, but the actual completion time is dependent on the number of contestants. A committee in advance has formulated a question from your critical issue statement for the on-stage question. Miss Talent should not exceed 90 seconds. You will have one opportunity at rehearsal to run through your talent. Talents are not protected. Please bring a back-up CD with you!!! The opening production number will be in a cocktail dress of your choice; closing will be in eveningwear. There are no production numbers requiring contestants to learn choreography. INTERVIEW The interviews will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011. Interviews will begin at 1:00 p.m. Judge’s Interview will begin immediately following introduction. Interviews will be 10 minutes which is allotted as follows: no opening, 9:30 minutes of questions and 30 seconds of closing statement. PAGEANT INFORMATION There is no reserved seating at the pageant. Tickets are $5.00 for adults, $3.00 children ages 2 to 6 years of age and children under two will be admitted free. However, please be courteous to our contestants and know that noise from the audience can be very distracting during talent and on-stage question portions of the competition. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. and the pageant will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. A photographer will be available to take pictures for a “Memory Book” of the weekend competition. |

To compete you must – Ø Be a young lady between the ages of 13 and 17. Ø The contestant must be at least thirteen (13) years of age on the first day of the State competition. Ø Contestant may be no older than seventeen (17) years of age as of the date that she would compete at the MAOT National Finals. Ø Be a United States citizen. Ø Meet residency requirements for competing in a certain town or state. Ø Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America's Ø Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements. Ø Be able to meet the time commitment and responsibilities as set forth Ø Must not be eligible to compete on the Miss level in the Miss America Program at any point during the current Pageant Year. Contestants will participate in six mandatory phases of competition—a six-minute Private Interview, Evening Wear, Casual Wear, Talent, and Lifestyle & Fitness in Active Wear and On-Stage Question. The weighted score values for the competition are: Talent 35% - Private Interview 35% - Evening Wear 15% Lifestyle and Fitness in Active Wear 10% - On-Stage Question 5% Sponsorship fee of $75.00 must be delivered or mailed, along with the application forms.
